About

It Olympiad

It gives me immense pleasure to announce the commencement of this years Integrated Technology (IT) Olympiad. IT Olympiad 2017 is planned as per the schedule displayed on the competition website (www.itolympiad.org). The registration will start from August 1st 2016 and the first round of competition will begin from August 15th 2016.

This year major revamp in the competition is carried out based on the feedback from the industries and Institutions. Few pain points of the students are addressed in this competition, such as no exposure to real world of engineering, lack of understanding about the connect between theory and practice, less opportunities to connect with industrial thought leaders, and importance of soft skills. The competition will be held in four rounds.

In the first round of the competition the soft skills, and the personality traits are identified through an online examination. The report of this test will suggest students their areas of improvement in the soft skill domain.

In the second round the extent of the fundamental knowledge in the domain will be tested. The score of this round will indicate the depth of understanding of concepts and proficiency in applying the same.

In the third round the advanced knowledge in the domain will be tested. This round will have relevance with the real life problems, which students will be solving in fourth round.

In the fourth round the shortlisted students will be required to work in multidisciplinary groups to solve the industrial problems. At the end the group has to present a concept paper, which will be evaluated by a panel of experts comprising of industries and academia. During this phase industrial experts will mentor the group and extend the help required to visualize the problem and solve the same professionally. A group with best concept paper will be called in Pune to present and finalists will get a chance to implement the paper in the industry, which proposed the problem.
